They say they cannot fix the problem, that it lies within Microsoft Word. MathType support says they sumitted all the details to Microsoft several years ago but to no avail. I have been searching the Microsoft forums and this problem has plagued every version of Word, both Windows and Mac, for over 6 years, with no solution in sight.
